He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Gray and Ella Lucille Stafford Garrett; and his parents-in-law, Cordell Cole, Marie and Earl Stout.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy Tower (Chris) of Cookeville and Stacy Ray Garrett (Crystal Wooten) of Cookeville; his grandchildren, Tamarie and Chloe Sparkman; his stepgrandchildren, Braxton and Lidia Tower; his siblings, Treva Chaffin of Georgia, Tommy Garrett (Doris) of Bloomington Springs and Teresa; his brother-in-law Ed Ortlepp of Baxter; his nephew Jordan Ortlepp (Hannah Rice); and his pet Jack.
