He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie B. McDowell and Willa Mae Hayes McDowell; and his siblings, Louie McDowell, Jr. and Patricia Clayborn. He is survived by: his daughter Mary Kathryn "Katie" McDowell of Atlanta, GA; and his sisters, Cheryl K. Bower (David) of Shelbyville, TN and Cathy L. Gay (Ronnie) of Fayetteville, TN.
