He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Eddington Mires and Hattie Maxwell Mires; his wife Kay Ann Randolph Mires; his sons, Terry and Dale Mires; and his siblings, Jane Boyd and Thomas Eddington Mires, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Charlene Allen (Jeff) and Paula Smith (Jimmy); and his grandchildren, Mikayla Thomas (Nathan), Lucas Allen (Emma Wilson) and Miranda Smith. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
