He was predeceased by: his father Donald R. Dowdy. He is survived by: his wife Lori Dowdy; his children, Brittany Moody (Taylor), Rachael Rickard (Ricky), Clayton Dowdy (Madison) and Jordan Dowdy; his grandchildren, Charley Moody, Fox Moody, Jasper Moody, Piper Dowdy, Brooklyn Mashburn and Charlotte Rickard; his mother Kay Dowdy; and his siblings, Terry Dowdy (Kerry), Scott Dowdy (Angie) and Teresa Collier (Jerry). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
