She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Smith and Tishie Lou Smith; and her husband Shirley Atkins. She is survived by: her siblings, Willard Smith (Barbara) and Laverne Kellon; her sons, Jimmie Atkins (Nancy) and Charles Atkins; her grandsons, Jason Atkins (Shannon) and Justin Atkins (Katie); and her great grandchildren, Nicole, Nathan, Addyson, Sage, Owen and Laney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be sent to New Church Memphis, 4917 Macon Rd, Memphis, TN 38122 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
