He was predeceased by: his parents, James McDaniel and Nellie McDaniel; and his close friend Bear. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Materna McDaniel; his sons, Larry T. McDaniel (Alicia), Steven R. McDaniel (Sarah), James M. McDaniel (Gail) and Tom S. McDaniel, Jr.; his grandchildren, Lea K. McDaniel, Kari C. McDaniel, Brian R. O. McDaniel, Andrew S. McDaniel, Laura M. Pickel (Kelly), Aaron M. McDaniel and Emily A. McDaniel; and his great grandchild Amelia M. Pickel.
