He is survived by: his children, Renee Leigh Diebel (Bryan) of Bismarck, ND, Richard Shane Merritt (Kelly), Shannon Dean and Erin; his brothers, Kirk Flitton of Brick Township, NJ and Mark Flitton of Nashville, NC; and his grandchildren, Spencer Smith, Matthew Merritt, Megan Merritt, Michael Merritt and Skylan Turnbow. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
