He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert and Mattie Lou Sojourner, Sr.; his former wife Geraldine "Gerry" Sojourner; his wife Ruby Faye; and his sister Evelyn Sutton.
He is survived by: his brothers, Albert C. Sojourner Jr. and Gordon Sojourner; his sons, Richard Sojourner (Mary), David Sojourner (Gayle) and Raines Jeffrey Sojourner (Eileen); his stepson Robert Hamilton (Catherine); his grandchildren, Timothy, Jennifer, Amy, Kevin, Paul, Jill and John; and his friend Sue McCann. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the National MS Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
