She is survived by: her daughters, J. Jewel Nichols and Esther Sykes-Wood (Mitchell Wood); her grandchildren, Celena, Amara (Ali), Josie, Adelina, Lilly and Penny; and her great grandchildren, Cyrus, Archie, Liam, Adrian and Winnie.
In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the American Civil Liberties Union to help safeguard freedom during these challenging times.
