He was predeceased by: his parents, Lantie Oneal Escue and Myrtle Escue; his wife Rebecca Willine Escue; his stepson Fred Thomas Thornton; his daughter-in-law Joann Thornton; and his close friend Mary Catherine Mathis.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Rick Thornton of Memphis, TN, Wanda Quirarte (Cesar) of Bartlett, TN and Tim Thornton (Cynthia) of Olive Branch, MS. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ellendale Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN.
