He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Veston Colbert, Sr. and Janie Mozelle Crowe Colbert; and his siblings, Ima Jo Hughes, Mildred Lee and W. T. Colbert.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruth Bishop Colbert of Bartlett, TN; and his sister-in-law Jane Helvering of Oakland, TN. He is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews.
