He was predeceased by: his daughter Lisa McCaskey; and his parents, Joseph McCaskey and Laverne McCaskey. He is survived by: his wife LaWanda Manning McCaskey; and his children, Ronnie McCaskey (Linda), Susie Jacobs (Rick), Jimmy McCaskey (Carla), Jan Smith (David) and Mike McCaskey (Gretchen). He is also survived by six sisters; one brother; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
