He is survived by : his wife Shirley Allen of Clarksdale, Mississippi; his children, Cozetta Thomas (Troy) of Olive Branch and Robert Beals (Maxine) of Jackson; his sisters, Virgie Forbes and Shirley Oates of Memphis, Tennessee; his siblings-in-law, Delores Robinson (Willie) of Clarksdale, MS, Alfredia Sims of Douglasville, GA, Hosea McCray Jr. (Eddye), Barry McCray Sr. of Memphis, TN, John McCray of Jackson, MS and Jerry McCray Sr. of Clarksdale, MS; his grandchildren, Robert Beale Jr., Ravenico Beals, Ivory Beals, Lexus Beals, Samone James, Chantale James, Ava McCray, Prince McCray, Tristin Thomas, Tyisha Thomas, Cameron Thomas and Tramon Thomas; his great grandchildren, Kadarrion Beals, Kya Beals, Marco Cooper, Marico Cooper, Talia Cooper, Takirra Cooper, Kordera James, Jeremiah James, Samaya James, La'Niyah James, Angelo James, Kendall James, Zahra James, Alise James, Tru Thomas, Lauren Maiden and Drayden Maiden; and his great great grandchildren, Zy Cooper, Kehlani Cooper and Katlin Cooper. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Family Funeral Care (4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens (3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133). A repast was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Family Funeral Care (4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122).
