He was predeceased by: his parents, Orvel Hays and Wilma Hays (Smith); his daughter Trudy Hays; and his siblings, Paulette and Larry Hays Sr..
He is survived by: his daughter Dana Johnson (Chris) of Bartlett, TN; his grandchildren, Kelsey Ramirez (Josh) of Louisville, KY and Craig Johnson (Josslyn) of Killeen, TX; his brother Mack Hays (Cathy); his sister-in-law Glenda Hays; his sister Sandra Frazier (Robert); and his great grandchild Leonidas Flores-Johnson.
The family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society.
