He was predeceased by: his wife Murrel Patrick; his sons, Eddie McCommon and Mike McCommon; his grandsons, Mark Wade and Clay McKinney; and his great grandchild Bubba Wade.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carolyn Little, Patsy Rhodes, Martha "Mot" Hankins (Jerry), Joan Channell, Sandra Hunsucker and Sheila Bermudez (Rey); and his daughter-in-law Jennie McCommon.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Edmon's name may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital or Memphis Union Mission.
