She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Aver Simmons and Iva Vay Simmons; her children, Becky Sevier, Mark James (Carla), Anthony James (Kim) and Andrea Brown; her sister Patsy Binkley (Tommy); her husband Tom James; her son Will James (Linda); and her brother Tommy Simmons. She was also cherished by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
