He was predeceased by: his wife Joan P. Strong; his parents, Joseph Wylie and Maggie Liles Strong; his son Robert Jeffery Strong; and his grandson Michael Connor Arney.

He is survived by: his daughters, Jan Jones (David) of Atoka and Julie Arney (Mike) of Collierville; and his grandchildren, Elise Tompkins (Mike), Jon Robert Jones and Mick Arney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Salem A.R.P. Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
