He was predeceased by: his parents, William Scott and Emma Jean Marler Roberts; his wife Jimmie Nell Dennis Roberts; his daughter Earlene Roberts; and his sisters, Johnnie Sue Roberts Dennis and Mabra Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughter Darlene; his son-in-law Scott Thornton of Athens; his brother Richard; his sister-in-law Martha Roberts of Athens; his sister Ruby Huston of Athens; his brother-in-law Larry (Sheila Dennis) of Hempstead, TX.; his grandsons, Nathan Thornton, Eric Thornton, Jamie Roberts and Jeremy Roberts; his great grandchildren, Aiden Thornton, Alistair Thornton and Parker Roberts; and his former wife Virginia Bright Roberts. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
