She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Eugene and Mary Sue Dodson; her husband Joe C. Thompson; her sister Genia Wexel; her granddaughter Megon Creighton; and her grandmother Lillie McNabb Dodson.
She is survived by: her children, Judy Thompson Creighton (Curtis) of Cleveland, Dana Thompson Bennewitz (Dan) of Knoxville and Scott Thompson (Joy) of Athens; her grandchildren, Candace Creighton Guevara, Adam Creighton, Ty Bennewitz, Koltin Thompson and Kristin Crisp; and her sisters, Emma Jane Browder (EJ) and Shelia Jaynes (Cloyd).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home (521 N Jackson St, Athens, TN 37303). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McMinn Memory Gardens (1727-1739 Co Rd 560, Athens, TN 37303).
