Robert Massingale Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Massingale of Athens, Tennessee, who passed away on September 13, 2021 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, H. L. Massingale and Bertie Nicholson Massingale; his wife Ada Massingale; his brother Harold; his sister-in-law Ovaline Massingale; and his granddaughter Natasha Perian.
He is survived by: his daughters, Joan Cabrera (David) of Cleveland and Janice Higgins (Fred) of Decatur; his grandchildren, Brian Akins (Elizabeth) and Brittney Brady (Jason); his great grandchildren, Dakota, Jacob Akins (Megan), Tiffany Widdis (Seth), Taylor Bledsoe, Whitney Newman, Kylie Brady and Kyra Brady; and his great great grandchildren, Hunter, Logan Widdis, Gracelynn, Cooper Akins, Zoey Akins, Teagan Brewer and Clay Carter.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or as Tommy would say, "Don't buy me flowers, buy some child a pair of shoes.".
