It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Larry Hammonds of Athens, Tennessee, who passed away on February 6, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, George Hammonds and Henrietta Hammonds of Charleston, TN.; and his siblings, Horace Hammonds, Kenneth Hammonds, Martha Gillespie and Eliza Mae Barnett.

He is survived by : his children, Aletha D. Lenox (Daryl Lenox) of Nashville, TN, Yolanda Hammonds of Charleston, TN and Ray Hammonds (Arlena Hammonds) of Charleston, TN; his grandsons, Joshua Crum, Ray Hammonds and Rayden Hammonds; his sisters, Joann Cooley of Calhoun, TN and Alice Gibbs of Charleston, TN; and his caregiver Grenay Hammonds Wells of Athens, TN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.
