He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Barton and Maude Taylor Barton; his former wife Avis Brooks Barton; his siblings, Minty Grace Hobbs, Glenn and Mark Barton; and his stepmothers, Ethel Barton and Minty Barton.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Louise Burke Barton of Athens; his children, Donna Summitt (Rick) of Vonore, Dennis R. Barton (Charmaine) of Palm Coast, FL, Blaine Barton (Kyla) of Griffin, GA and Kevin Barton (Tammy) of Senoia, GA; and his brother Frank Barton of Athens. He is also survived by Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
