She was predeceased by : her parents, Guffey Tallent and Elsie Tallent (Buckner); her husband Olin Paul Shattles; and her siblings, Harold Tallent, Lvalena Moses, Lela Tallent and Janice Tallent.

She is survived by : her siblings, Thomas Tallent (Virginia), Carey Tallent, Larry Tallent (Penny), Rachel Jones, Ivalena Robinson, Virginia Dodson, Helen Winder (Jerry) and Dana Shelton (Charles). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
