He is survived by: his parent Frances Allen Nielsen; his wife Frances Hart Nielsen; his daughter Kathi Jackson of Athens; his son-in-law Harold Jackson (Chuck) of Athens; his great grandchildren, Madyson Wigley and Sean Jackson; his sister Ellen Armstrong of Vicksburg, MS; and also, Elmer Nielsen of Vicksburg, MS, Roberta Nielsen of Vicksburg, MS and Faye Nielsen of Vicksburg, MS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
