It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Hicks of Athens, Tennessee, born in Cleveland, Tennessee, who passed away on January 8, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Mildred Green Hicks; his father-in-law Murl Hampton; his grandparents, John Henry, Gussie Green, Minnie and Thomas Hicks; and his brother-in-law Larry O'Neal "Chip" Chandler.

He is survived by: his friends, Roy and Carl Dupree; his wife Shannon Hampton Hicks of Athens; his father Hershel Hicks of Cleveland; his sons, Brian P. (Beth Hicks) and K. Todd (Tina Hicks); his grandchildren, Cole, Nate Hicks of Charleston, SC, Sarah Hicks of Cleveland, Hannah, Jacob Poteet of Nashville, TN, Katie and Mason Hicks of Medina, TN; his mother-in-law Joyce Newman Hampton of Athens; his siblings, Sandra Hughes (Bill Hughes) of Chattanooga and Jonny (Cindy Hicks) of Cleveland; his siblings-in-law, Holly Hampton Chandler of Athens and Matt (Stacy Hampton) of Dayton, TN; his nieces and nephews, Cindy Hicks Phillips of Cleveland, Lexi Hicks of Cleveland, John Hicks of Cleveland, Richard, Scott Hughes of Chattanooga, Madison of Dayton, Mallory of Dayton, Sydney Hampton of Dayton and Jack Chandler of Athens; and his pets, Hobson, Dobbs, Ivy, Sable Blaney, Gardner, Brewster and Wilbur.
