He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Sr. Bettenhausen and Emma Kramer Bettenhausen; his wife Evelyn "Evie" Johnson Bettenhausen; his sons, Phillip Bettenhausen and Larry Bettenhausen, Jr.; and his siblings, Pearl Wahl, Lavera Ottamar, Blanche Wetzel, Coreen Bettenhausen, Mabel Larson, Muriel Schilling, Shirley Kaseman, Ella Burr, Howard Bettenhausen, Charles Bettenhausen, Warren Bettenhausen, Edgar Bettenhausen and Oliver Bettenhausen, Jr..
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Amanda Simons (Fred) of Stevens Point, WI and Ragna Russo (Rob) of Hammond, IN; and his siblings, Neil Bettenhausen (Nancy) of San Diego, CA, Richard Bettenhausen (Maxine) of Mesa, AZ and Gladys Zimmerman (Leon) of Napoleon, ND..
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Fairview Baptist Church (261 Co Rd 439, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. An entombment was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at the McMinn Memory Gardens (1727 Co Rd 560, Athens, TN 37303).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Camp Fairview, c/o Fairview Baptist Church, 261 County Road 439, Athens, TN 37303.
