He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold A. Cate and Sally Green Cate; his siblings, Alfred B. Cate, Howard Cate, JB Cate, Harold Cate and Avis Cate; and his son-in-law Mike Stewart.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Stewart, Arnold Cate (Kathy), Sally White (Larry) and Jim Cate; and his grandchildren, Kim Stewart, Tosha Stinnett, Jessica Cate (Devan Stephens), Christina Burrell (Jon), Christopher Cate (Kayla), Kevin White and Ashley Cate. He is also survived by 10 Great Grandchildren.
