He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Barrett and Genevieve Barrett; and his son-in-law Sean Deeds. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Barrett; his children, Kathleen Deeds, Jennifer Harmon and James Robert Barrett Jr.; his grandchildren, Lyndsey, Jenna and R. J.; his great grandchildren, Emma, Charlotte, Asher, Kenzie, Ezra and Paige; and his sisters, Susan Gryzb (Walter), Carol Riley and Genevieve Bagnell (Joseph).
