We are sad to announce that on November 5, 2020, Hugh Maughan of Athens, Tennessee, born in Ducktown, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Claudia Griffin and Taft Maughan; his stepmother Gertrude Maughan; his son-in-law Michael Shumer; his sister Mary; his brother-in-law David Copeland; his brothers, Charles Martin and Kenneth Daniel Griffin; his nephew Bobby Copeland; and his sister-in-law Carolene Owen.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Mason Maughan; his daughter Susan E. Shumer; his great grandchildren, Billy Pratt, Noah and Adam Carney; his daughter Baleigh; his friends, Kate, Holland, Dixie, Isabel, Ava, Eli and Israel; his sister Delores "Dodie"; his brother-in-law Max Mason (Willene); and his nieces and nephews, Linda Vess, Tammy Hamilton, Cheri Collins, Debra, Tina Coward, Lisa Sharp, Mark Copeland, John Coward and Charles Owen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Home Service Class" at Keith Memorial United Methodist Church.
