It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Clyde Ratledge of Athens, Tennessee, who passed away on December 5, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ratledge and Azlee Ghourley Ratledge; his wife Peggy Alverine Ratledge; and his siblings, Louie Arnwine, Grove Odum, Gladys Ratledge, Jim Ratledge, Dick Ratledge and Frank Ratledge.
He is survived by: his daughters, Elaine (Herb Keylon), Tenn and Carol (David Johnson); his brother William "Tootsie" Ratledge (Tenn) of Athens; his grandsons, Michael Crutchfied and Caleb Johnson; his great grandchild Skyler Crutchfield; his great great grandchild Lane Crutchfield; and his close friend Nancy McMutery. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
