He was predeceased by: his parents, John Shelton and Lou Ella Burnett Shelton; and his son Harold Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Arveda Hampton Shelton of Athens; his daughter Willa; his son-in-law Steve Maxwell of Madisonville; his son Darrell; his daughter-in-law Starlingale of Greenback; his daughter Lisa; and his children-in-law, Tommy Leamon of Athens and Dianne Snipes Shelton. He is also survived by 5 granddaughters and 3 grandsons, 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
