With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Freddie Dennis Grubb of Athens, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 10, 2025 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie Grubb and Hubert Grubb; and his brothers, Frank Grubb, Clyde Grubb, James Grubb and Johnny Grubb.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Toomey Grubb; his sons, Joe Dennis Grubb (Lislie) of Athens and James Wesley Grubb of Athens; his grandchildren, Dannon Kyle Grubb, Bradley Morgan Grubb, Jocelyn Whitley Grubb and Kelsey Rachel Grubb; his great grandchild Morgan Lee Grubb; and his brothers, Jack Grubb (Oneida), Wayne Grubb and Kenneth Grubb. He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the East Athens Baptist Church (301 Central Ave, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Idlewild Cemetery.
