She was predeceased by: her husband Louie E. Carter; and her sister Mary Lee Cardin. She is survived by: her daughter Teresa; her son-in-law George Hester of Athens, Tenn.; her siblings, David (Margo Hogan), Jimmy (Teena Hogan) and Linda; and her brother-in-law Buster Evans. She is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga and McMinn County Humane Society.
