He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Galen and Louada Resibois Smith; and his wife Karen Cunningham Smith. He is survived by: his children, Matthew (Heather Smith), Michael (Samantha Smith), Anthony Smith of Athens, Lor (Dave Cannon), Lisa (Baumgardner), Holly Perez of Newport, KY, Julie Gordon of Key Largo, FL and Shawnee Smith of Athens; his grandchildren, Jerry Leighann, Kaitlen, Dalton, Devon, Haley, Mackenzie, Isaiah, Kharminy, Ryker, Nevaeh, Jessie, Gary, Derek, Ian, Adam, Adalynn and Lylah; and his great grandchild Carleigh.
