He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Roberts and Cora Roberts; his siblings, Theodore, Ben, Orlando, James, Nathaniel, Mae Della Mayotte and Ada Bailey; his son John Robert Ellis; and his daughter-in-law Theopher "Theo" Roberts.
He is survived by: his wife Letha Louise Haley; his children, Michelle Benton (Anthony), Charlie "Tommy" Roberts, Earl Franklin Gott, Machelle Young (Kris) and Christopher Roberts (Melanie); his sisters-in-law, Dolina Roberts (Nathaniel), Mattie Roberts (Ben) and Evelyn Armstrong; and his cousin Larry "Doby" McMahan. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews.
