With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Craig Monroe of Athens, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 9, 2025 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Clay and Fannie Witt Monroe; and his grandparents, Fred, Bisha Jones Monroe, Henry and Lydia Wilson Witt.
He is survived by: his friend Reverend R. T. Smith; his wife Cathy Pearman Monroe; his stepson Nathan Hughes; his stepgrandson Christian Hughes (Skylar); his sister Karen Monroe Ferguson (Jeff); his brother-in-law Reverend Bill Pearman (Patty); his niece Jennifer Randolph; and his aunt Eunice McAllister. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Freedom Baptist Church (2207 Velma Rd, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Eastanallee Cemetery (482 Co Rd 725, Riceville, TN 37370).
