He was predeceased by: his parents, August Cook-Thompson (Bus) and Rosie Lee Cook-Thompson; and his siblings, Margaret Westfield, Ella Mae Latham, Edna Ann Thompson, Marcie T. Newton, James Thompson, Joe Lewis Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Steve Thompson and William Thompson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Thomas Thompson (Wanda-Faye) of Georgetown, TN, Mary Winton of Athens and Theresa Huff (Sherman) of Fayetteville; his sister-in-law Madra Thompson of McDonough; his nephew Mike Thompson; and his close friends, Paul Brown, Rudy Swafford and Betty Brown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Chapel of M. D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home - Cleveland (502 Congress Pkwy N, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
