With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Weir of Athens, Tennessee, born in Lafollette, Tennessee, who passed away on August 23, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Sharp and Columbia Heatherly Sharp; her husband Donald E. Weir; and her brother Dr. Vance Sharp. She is survived by: her daughter Dauna; her son-in-law Dr. Richard Sharpe of Athens; her son Jerry; her daughter-in-law Becky Weir of Farragut; her grandchildren, Allison Sullivan (Hunter), Stephanie Weir (Andy Yong), Rebecca Weir and Andrew Richard Sharpe (Amanda); and her great grandchildren, Maddie Sullivan, Ian Sharpe, Margaret Sharpe, Luke Sullivan and Reid Sharpe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Athens, 305 Ingleside Avenue, Athens, TN 37303.
