He was predeceased by: his parents, William B. Sapp and Ruth M. Curfman (Smith); his stepfather Ernest D. Curfman; his brother Roy M. Sapp; and his brother-in-law Lester Pigg.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth M. Sapp (Glasgow); his children, Rachelle Taylor (Floyd), William 'Billy Sapp, Laura Guthrie, Christina 'Tina Faulker (Randall), Peggy Leonard (James) and Bobby Bruton (Kate Sage); his grandchildren, Lauran Wisdom McCrary (Timothy), Katherine Wisdom, William 'Will Wisdom (Maddie), Jonathan Leonard, Christopher Leonard, Megan Guthrie Caputo (Jacob), Bailey Sage-Bruton Carter and Connor Bruton; his great grandchildren, Olivia McCrary and Benjamin McCrary; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Sapp and Shirley Elaine Pigg. He is also survived by one nephew, a number of nieces.
