She was predeceased by: her parents, Phillip Johnson and Nellie Reed Johnson Williams; her stepfather Morris Williams; and her siblings, Alfred Williams, Roberta Miller and Vertrese Jackson.
She is survived by: her husband Grady Allison Mitchell; her sons, Ronnie Mitchell (Ann), Donnie Mitchell (Paulette) and Johnnie Mitchell (Lisa); and her brother Beauford Williams. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
