It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Houston Barlar Sr. (Ashland City, Tennessee), born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Glendon Ingram Barlar and Martha Barlar (Soapes); and his brother Robert Barlar. He is survived by: his wife Lucille Barlar (Woosley); his sons, James "Jimmy" Houston Barlar, Jr. (Jan), Jerry Barlar (Allison) and Jonathan Barlar (Sharenda); his sisters, Samantha Ivey and Hettie Watson; his grandchildren, James Houston, III (Jennifer), Jacob Barlar, Jaden Barlar, Sophie Barlar, Claire Barlar, Caroline Barlar and Catherine Barlar; and his great grandchildren, Everly Barlar and Levi Barlar.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Tupelo Children's Mansion.
