He was predeceased by: his children, Daniel Glen Smith and Laura Lee Smith; his brother Gerald "Jerry" Smith; and his child Patricia Smith. He is survived by: his wife Gail Seaborn Smith; his son Gary Smith (Sharon); his siblings, Ronald Fendrix Smith (Iva), Reba Karene Johnson, Glenda Sue, Batts Smiley and Patsy Smiley (Steve); his grandchildren, Nikki Beard, Christopher Beard and Carrie Bowers (Jon Cardon); and his great grandchildren, Georgia Richardson, Jadelyn Bowers, Charlie Cardon and Madison Cardon.
