He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Gambrel and Ethel Gambrel; and his siblings, Edna Bowman, Phyllis Adkins and Alonzo Gambrel.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hatfield Gambrel; his sons, Christopher Lee Gambrel, Jr. (Cena Michelle) and Charles Otis Gambrel (Lisette Wash); his grandchildren, Kristal Gambrel, Zachary Bolling, Dylan Gambrel, Abby Gambrel and Christopher Lee Gambrel III; and his siblings, Rosalea Norfleet (Austin) and Ronnie Gambrel (Beatrice). He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
