She is survived by: her children, John Bates Jr (Tenna), David Bates (Donna), Jerome Bates and Rebecca Bates (Donnie Richards); her grandchildren, John Bates III, Shawn Bates, Crystal Powers, Lacy Rushing and Caitlin Bates; and her great grandchildren, John Bates IV, Kira Bates, Dameon Watts, Anthony Taylor, Hailey Rushing and Gracelyn Bates.
