She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude B. Neal and Lucille M. Binkley Barnes; and her stepfather Charlie Barnes. She is survived by: her cousin Jerry "Tinker" Binkley; her husband John Coles; her son Jonathan Coles; her siblings, Murray Neal (Dean), Frances Felts and Mary Ethel Elam (Ken); her nieces and nephews, Karen Galbreath (Troy), Beth Harris (Randy), Don Felts (Pam), Kevin Neal (Melissa), Angela, Kimberly Griffin, Jenn Rains and Sherri Banovatz; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Richie Harris, Brad Galbreath (Lacey), Bryant Harris, Brianna Neal, Karlie, Emma Felts, Troy Galbreath (Rachel) and Kristi Rediker (Richard, Jr.); her sisters-in-law, Jackie Griffin (Wayne), Judith Mills and Dianne Coles; and her close friend Marilyn White.
