He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Althea Mitchell and John Tillman Mitchell; and his brothers, J. T. Mitchell and Morris Mitchell (Bonnie). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth (Liz); his son Patrick L. Mitchell of Brentwood; his stepdaughter Leigh A. Garrison (Tim) of Ashland City; his grandchildren, Hannah L. Mitchell, Chase L. Mitchell, Justin A. Garrison (Samantha) and Christopher R. Garrison (Sydney); his great grandchildren, Dylan, Aaron, Colin, Titus, Olivia and Brynleigh; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Mitchell of Loveland, Ohio, Wayne Collins (Gina) of Cane Ridge and Joe Collins (Marsha) of McMinnville.
