He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Dee Vance, Sr. and Flora Hoover Vance; his wife Anna Frances Wood Vance; and his siblings, Claude Dee Vance, Jr., Ralph Vance, Jean Alsup and Ruth Wood.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher H. Vance (Karen) of Sunset, SC and Julie Vance Broach; and his grandchildren, Jessica Vance, Megan Vance, Andrew "Drew" Ellsworth, Laura Ellsworth Steyer and Mary Ellsworth.
