He was predeceased by: his parents, Clint "Doc" and Evelyn Mercer; and his son Steven Lane Mercer. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Mercer; his daughters, Karri Wilmore (Kyle) and Shawna Burk (Glenn); his grandchildren, Karlie Burk Warner, Callie Wilmore, Parker Burk and Maddie Wilmore; and his siblings, Shirley Wetzel and Ronnie Mercer.
