He was predeceased by: his parents, Bailey Edward Hampton and Mattie Pearl Conilison Hampton; his daughter Laurie Hampton; and his brothers, James Hampton, Cecil Hampton and Ed Hampton.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Lemmon Hampton of Arlington, TN; his children, Ginny Rutledge of West Virginia and Sonny Hampton (Amy) of Memphis, TN; and his siblings, Betty Young (Wallace) of Eads, TN, Margaret Harper (Phil) of Memphis, TN and Roger Hampton of Horn Lake, MS. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
