He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Vernon Swanson and Flora Moela Boosier Swanson; and his sister Carol Ann. He is survived by: his wife Nadine Swanson; his children, Jason Swanson (Lisa) and Carla Cato (Michael); his siblings, Curtis Swanson (Rebecca) and Charlotte Rockwell; his grandsons, Adam Cato, Scotty Cato and Logan Swanson; and his great grandchildren, Tucker, Cruz and Baylor.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Gideon Bible Fund.
